Royal West Saddles Up For Gala For A Cure/ Sunday A Day For Young Horse Championships

October 28, 2015, Calgary, Alberta: The Royal West Jumping Championships — featuring the prestigious $126,000 LONGINES FEI World Cup™ Jumping Calgary — is pleased to announce its support for the Gala To Find A Cure on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, at Murrieta’s Bar & Grill.
 
Presented by Semrau and Associates, Exclusive Affiliate of Christie’s International Real Estate, the event features auctions, entertainment and the opportunity to meet the stars of the Royal West at one of Calgary’s top restaurants.
 
“Everyone knows how important it is to help find a cure for this disease that affects so many women,” says John Anderson, president of Royal West. “We are pleased that we can join the efforts of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation and Murrieta’s. It’s the ideal way for fans to combine their love of jumping with a great charity and some fine food.”

Fans will have a chance to meet some of the world’s top riders. Joining John Anderson at the Gala will be fellow Canadian star and Olympic silver medalist Jill Henselwood and a strong contingent of Canadians including Ontarians Keenan White — winner of the $35,000 Synoil Royal West International Championship, PHASE 2, 1.45 m — and Eyrnn Ballard and Albertan Elizabeth Gingras. International stars feature Samuel Parot of Chile, who swept the podium in Thursday’s $35,000 Stone Ridge Royal West International Championship PHASE 1 1.45 m, and James Chawke of Ireland are others who may attend. 
 
From the pivotal second week of Royal West comes Californias Quentin Judge and Vinton Karrash, Canadian challengers Calgary’s Ben Asselin, Tamie Phillips, Chris Sorreson and local up-and-comer Jenn Serek. This roster of stellar readers will be competing for, among the top events, the $50,000 Western Canadian Hunter Derbies and the $126,000 in prize money in the LONGINES FEI World Cup™ Jumping Calgary.
 
Sunday was a day for young horses at Royal West. The $2000 Alberta Young Horse Championships were staged at the Agrium. Competition was held in the 4-year-olds at 1m, 5-year-olds at 1.10 m., 6-year-olds at 1.2 m. 7-year-olds at 1.2.5 m. and 8-year-olds at 1.4 m.
  
Tickets are available for Royal West being held at the Agrium Western Even Centre on the grounds of the Calgary Stampede. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster for online purchases or by phone in conjunction with the Calgary Stampede Ticket Office. Tickets may also be purchased the day of the event at the show box office.
