International Show Jumping Returns to the Heart of Calgary

CALGARY, AB – The Inaugural Royal West Horse Show kicks off a brand new tradition this week bringing International Show Jumping back to the heart of downtown Calgary.

The world-famous Calgary Stampede Park will host over 400 horses from around the world to compete in the brand new state-of-the-art indoor facility at the Agrium Western Event Centre.

Hosted by the Rocky Mountain Show Jumping management team and the Calgary Stampede; the Inaugural Royal West presents 10 days of elite equestrian competition for spectators and competitors alike.

From Thursday, October 23th to Saturday, November 1st spectators and competitors will be invited to enjoy a jam-packed schedule of events featuring over $450,000 in prize money!

Internationally acclaimed Grand Prix stars like Jill Henselwood, John C. Anderson, Erynn Ballard, Keean White, Lisa Carlsen, Lauren Crooks, and Karen Cudmore will contest for large purses of prize money in both the CSI*** $120,000 1.45m Royal West International Show Jumping Championship, and in the $100,000 Spirit of the West Cup.

Regional CET champions from across the country will compete in the prestigious three phase CET National Medal Finals and allow the Royal West to crown the new 2014 National Champion.

Saturday, October 25th the Royal West will be hosting a glitzy Derby Gala in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.
